Ports of Call and Cruising Highlights

Described as the “City of Lights” by its visitors, Paris offers a romantic atmosphere with chic shops and fine restaurants.  With many of its famous sites included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List, the history of the city can be seen from the Seine River, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, the Place de la Concorde and the Grand and Petit Palais. Among its architectural masterpieces are the cathedral of Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. The wide squares and boulevards of Paris set the standard throughout the world in the 20th century.

Visit the majestic ruins of the Château Gaillard that overlook this lovely town. Richard the Lionhearted once occupied this massive fortress. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Seine valley. Les Andelys boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage.

Discover the church Notre Dame of Caudebec-en-Caux, a masterpiece of intricate Gothic architecture. Take a stroll to the nearby town of Villequier and enjoy picturesque views of half-timbered houses on the banks of the Seine River. Visit the impressive Gothic church thought by King Henry IV to be the most beautiful in France.  Beyond the town, you might explore the ancient ruins of Jumieges. Explore the historic 7th-century Benedictine Abbey St. Wandrille.

Visit St. Catherine Hill and enjoy fine panoramic views over the city with its many spires. This ancient city also boasts a majestic Gothic cathedral.  Other sights include: an impressive statue of Joan of Arc, a spectacular Renaissance “great clock”, and wonderful art museums. Walk down the Rue du Gros-Horloge, lined with attractive half-timbered houses; then explore the narrow alleys and stroll across picturesque squares.

Giverny is a small town in the vicinity of Vernon and well known to art lovers. Discover the house and lovely gardens where the great French Impressionist Claude Monet lived from 1883 to 1926. You will delight at the 17th-century architecture of Vernon. 500-year-old houses of stone abound in this charming town.
