I CAN WRITE MY BOOK

The desire to tell stories is timeless and universal, yet so many first time authors falter after a few pages or chapters when the inner critic marches in and says “No Good!” Let award-winning author Lisa Fugard share her experience and insight and offer valuable techniques for dealing with your inner critic. Learn how to take the risk, to face your fears, and write about what scares you—in the place where the “heat” of your most powerful expression can be found. Learn to cultivate the habit of discipline and to reach those moments of inner stillness when, as Kafka said, “The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked….” In her enlightening and empowering sessions, Lisa will share the story of her first book—almost ten years in the making. “It’s a journey shot through with elation, doubt, frustration, joy, and boredom. I’ll talk about the various agents who initially rejected the book, the many rewrites, and the fierce determination that I felt in bringing the book to publication,” she says.

I CAN PUBLISH MY BOOK

In this session, publishing expert Reid Tracy will reveal all of the secrets and inside information on what it takes to publish your book. You’ll learn how to land an agent, what specific elements and concepts top publishers look for in new books and new authors, and how to position your material so publishers will be knocking at YOUR door.

Reid will also teach you how to write a proposal for your book.

I CAN MARKET MY BOOK

In this session, marketing authority and seasoned expert on today’s media Margarete Nielsen will take your completed book from your garage and publisher’s warehouse and into the hands of the readers. Margarete will give you all the tools you need to create a marketing campaign for your book, including how to get the attention of the media and how to utilize e-mail and web strategies to gain exposure on your work.

YOU COULD BE AWARDED A BOOK CONTRACT!

Each participant will have the CHANCE OF A LIFETIME to submit their book proposal to Hay House. And 30 days after the cruise, President Reid Tracy will award a publishing contract and a $10,000 advance to the best proposal. That’s right—you could walk away from this conference with a PUBLISHING CONTRACT for Your BOOK!

Seattle, Washington - The Emerald City of the Pacific Northwest, this city’s stately skyline sparkles against a backdrop of inland seas and snowcapped mountains.  Shop glittering downtown, the bustling Farmers’ Market, historic Pioneer Square, or see it all from the top of the Space Needle.
Inside Passage - This scenic waterway reaches 1,000 miles from beautiful British Columbia to historic Skagway. Through a maze of bays, straits and fjords you’ll cruise past an ever-changing panorama of unspoiled beauty with sights of cascading waterfalls, virgin forests and glacier-carved fjords.
Juneau, Alaska - When a drifter named Joe Juneau picked up the first Alaska gold nugget out of Gold Creek in 1880, he could hardly imagine that his name would be affixed to a state capital. Fronting on the blue waters of the Gastineau Channel and surrounded by the stunning backdrop of Mt. Juneau and the Tongass National Forest wilderness, its visual drama never fails to stir visitors.  Visit the stately Governor’s Mansion, saunter through the swinging doors of the Red Dog Saloon, or sightsee the mighty Mendenhall Glacier, just outside town.
Hubbard Glacier - This is one of Alaska’s most dramatic and unforgettable sights.  From its source on Mount Logan in the Yukon Territory, it stretches 76 miles to the sea.  It is the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska, with an open calving face of over five miles wide.  Currently advancing, the “Galloping Glacier” is still living up to the nickname given to it in 1986.
Sitka, Alaska - For 100 years, this charming port city reigned as the capital of Russian America. Today the influence of the Czars is still very present in the majestic St. Michael’s Cathedral and the Sheldon Jackson Museum, housing prized Russian and Indian artifacts.
Ketchikan, Alaska - This waterfront town built on trestles, docks and pilings looks like it has been plucked from a storybook about frontier life. Explore historic Creek Street, now a covey of contemporary art galleries and quaint boutiques. Meet the spirits of the raven, whale and eagle as you view the largest collection of totems in the world at Totem Bight Park.
Victoria, British Columbia - Victoria is known as “The City of Gardens” and is the most English city outside of England, featuring a beautiful harbor, historic museums, and the world-famous Butchart Gardens. The city's British colonial heritage is still very much in evidence, but contemporary Victoria has a distinctly Pacific northwest flavor.  Victoria's unique character is deeply rooted in its 150-year history — a history full of colorful people and fascinating tales.
